6 weeks old -Mr. Smiley

Ok, so yesterday Toby was 6 weeks old, and what a display of smiles he gave me! He's smiled lots before, but usually by the time I get out my phone to start recording, he's Mr. Serious again.... Yesterday, we finally succeeded to catch those adorable smiles when I was recording a "Good morning, daddy" video for Frank. It was too cute not to share! :)

November already?!!

Wow, it's been a while since I've made any posts! The baby that was almost 20 weeks at my last entry is now almost 6 weeks old!! Tobias "Toby" is doing great! I'm adjusting to my new job - actually - I'm quite in love with it! Toby has been amazing! :) I've been focusing mainly on adjusting and preoccupying us with activities that aren't the end of the world if I can't follow through with them (having a newborn really changes the way I look at scheduling!!)! So, we've been going on walks, finding yummy recipes that we'll make in the future, and doing endless loads of laundry!!! We found out quite early on that Toby is a GREAT pooper, and since his 3 poops within the first 3 minutes after he came out of the womb he has since shown great projectile pooping skills as well as blow-out capabilities (even with a fresh diaper!). We're already looking at putting him in competitive pooping races, but are having difficulties finding others who dare to compete against him. ;)

This month we had a professional photographer take some pics of Toby (we won a session at the CHA Auction), but besides our free set of pictures it was going to cost a fortune. In addition, I knew that my brother KC could probably do just as good, so we had him come over and do a photo shoot of our little celebrity (thank you, KC!)! I know, I know, Toby's the cutest! ;)

With a heart overflowing...

This week (Tuesday), we will be 19 weeks along. Incredible, how FAST time is flying by! Last week we had an appointment and heard the heart beat again. In addition, I felt the baby move for the first time last week (during Mass, no less!!), and then again a second time two days later.

Incredible how a little being, complete with a separate heart, DNA, personhood, is inside of me right at this moment. A soul, created and loved by God... Wow.... How humbled I am at the beauty and the immense gift in which I (and all humanity) am entrusted.

I will not attribute it to the increased hormones, for in doing so would be to water down the reality in which I am facing: God has allowed humanity to partake in His creation. Not just witness it; but He has allowed us to be necessary in His plan. With this thought, my heart overflows on many occasion with the vastness of this reality and the depth of it's meaning.

My Lord, do with me as You wish. I am Yours.

Meeting Pope Benedict

Wow, I hadn't realized it had been so long since I had posted!!! While I'm sure most of you have seen this picture already, I had to post in honor of our meeting Pope Benedict last month, and receiving a blessing for our dear little baby by this holy man and Vicar of Christ on earth. Wow!! Amazing experience!! :)

13 days till Rome!

I feel like I'm getting married again! I'm going to try on my dress this weekend and my sister is going to help me get the bustle ready for the trip. It's so great to have an excuse to wear the wedding dress a second time. How cool to be in St. Peter's in Rome in our full wedding garb?!! I must admit, though... One BIG thing is going to be different about my outfit... I'm going to be wearing tennis shoes!!! Who's gonna know? Anyhow, those that might see it probably won't notice, because the only time I'm going to lift my dress to ankle length is when Frank and I are running to get front seats at the audience! :)

40-day date!

The thought just occurred to me... Lent is like a 40-day date with Jesus! Or a spiritual "honeymoon" that we get to have on an annual basis! How cool is that!!! WOOT WOOT!!! Bring it on, baby!!
